Koada Technology is
a UK-based company, created in 2001. Our objective is
to provide innovative and high quality software tools
and other consultancy services to our customers and
clients. We are achieving this by virtue of our long
and varied experience in life sciences R&D, and
also the rare and powerful combination of abilities
that enables us to simultaneously understand the
software, engineering and science aspects of a
problem.
Although we are a relatively new
company, we have considerable experience in life
sciences R&D extending back over 12 years. Our
primary technology expertise lies in the areas of
molecular biology and laboratory instrumentation, and
we can call on detailed knowledge of numerous
technologies, from cloning and DNA sequencing to
sample preparation robotics and microarray systems. We
also have very varied project experience, from
software development and instrument system design to
reagent kit and manufacturing process development.
Our software development strategy
typically involves Microsoft Visual Basic for user
interface development, with use of C++ components
where execution speed is critical. If associated data
processing or storage modules are required then we
normally use MS Excel VBA macros and/or Access for
small to moderate data loads, with higher loads
usually requiring a customised approach.
Since its inception, Koada
Technology has focussed primarily on microarray
technology. We have developed ground-breaking software
for automated analysis and quantification of array
images called Koadarray,
a 30-day evaluation version of which is freely
available for download. We have also designed and
developed the software for GE Healthcare's Lucidea
SlidePro slide hybridization and washing
instrument, and also provided most of the instrument
design, including the fluidics systems and modular
concept. However, microarray technology is not an
exclusive focus for Koada Technology and we already
have some exciting new ideas in development.
